Catherine Sands

As a CIPFA qualified chartered accountant, Catherine has worked in public sector accounting for over 25 years. She has practiced in the NHS, Local Authority and Fire Service and has been worked in schools finance since 2018, having been the CFO at Nexus Multi Academy trust and is currently the CFO at The McAuley catholic High School and Sixth form SAT.

Catherine undertakes much voluntary work, most notably as Chair of Governors at her local academy primary school, as a qualified assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, running marriage preparation lessons for the Hallam Diocese and volunteering in the food cabin at the local football club.

Catherine is passionate about fairness and equality for all, with a keen focus on ensuring young people are given the same chances to succeed in life.
